NewStar Introduces New Vice President of Marketing
Salinas, California, November 5, 2003 - NewStar, a Salinas-based grower, shipper and processor of fresh produce, today announced that John Killeen, a produce industry veteran, joined the company as vice president, sales and marketing, effective October 24.
Killeen joins NewStar from Tanimura & Antle, where he started in 1997 as central regional manager. In 1999 Killeen was promoted to director of sales for the northeastern U.S. and eastern Canada, and was most recently general manager of T&A's Plymouth, Indiana processing facility. Prior to joining T&A, Killeen served in increasingly responsible roles at Dole, starting as assistant district sales manager in 1989, culminating his tenure in 1997 as senior district sales manager for the banana division.
"John has an excellent track record in delivering results both from a sales and management perspective," said Dave Eldredge, NewStar president and CEO. "As the newest member of our management team, we are excited about the depth of experience, and innovative approach that he brings to the company."

Killeen is a graduate of the University of Texas, Arlington, and will be residing in Salinas with his wife and eight year old son.
