NewStar Introduces New Western Division Sales Manager
Salinas, California, April 5, 2004 - NewStar, a Salinas-based grower, shipper and processor of fresh produce, today announced that Peter Hayes, a produce industry veteran, has joined the company as Western Division Sales Manager, effective April 5.
For NewStar, Hayes will be responsible for outside sales, new business development and new product introductions for both commodity vegetables and value-added products, throughout the western states. His focus will be on the retail, club store and food service market segments.
Hayes joins NewStar from Dole Fresh Vegetables, where he most recently served as National Accounts Sales Manager. Prior to that, Hayes spent 20 years in increasingly responsible positions with Dole Fresh Fruit.
"Peter's successful track record and extensive industry experience makes him a perfect addition to our sales team," said John Killeen, NewStar's vice president of sales and marketing. "We look forward to his contributions toward achieving the company's goals."

Hayes lives in Salinas, California with his wife of 25 years, Nancy, and two children Matt and Sarah.
